Some believe that a first look can take away from the big reveal while others find it private, intimate, and calming. However, this decision will also depend on your timeline. For example, if you have a 3:30pm ceremony and a 5:30pm cocktail hour you will have plenty of time to do photos between these events. If you choose to do a first look in this scenario keep in mind that hair and makeup will need to start even earlier to account for seeing each other before the ceremony.
This works best after the ceremony. Coordinating getting your family to the ceremony early for pictures and then getting the bridal party tucked away prior to guest arrival can get tricky. We suggest having a detailed list of photo combinations and specific names (not just mom/dad/brother) for the photographer so that they can proficiently work through the list and send guests off to cocktail hour.
These are not a necessity, but if you have room in the budget a small thank you to your guests is always a nice gesture and can be a beautiful addition to your tables. Edible favors tend to be a big hit amongst guests, plus more for you not all of them are taken at the end of the day.
Yes, you should be willing and able to feed vendors on the day. Your Planner, DJ/Band, Photographer/Videographer, and anyone else playing a major role and present during the event should be offered a meal. Be sure to check your contracts before sending meal counts to your caterer as some vendors require the same meal guests receive. Also, confirm if there will be any assistants with these vendors during the day and account for them as well.
Traditionally, the Father of the Bride will start off toasts at the reception, followed by the Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor. You can modify this however you prefer. Some people are nervous talkers so you could have another groomsman or bridesmaid give a toast. You as a couple may want to give a toast to thank everyone for coming and being a part of your special day. Whichever route you go, we will help your speakers feel prepared and ready.
We recommend setting your RSVP date to 4+ weeks before your date. Many vendors require counts 30 days in advance, this will give you enough time to get final counts, as well as finalize seating arrangements. We can use Aisle Planner to track RSVPs.
life moves quickly, which is why my goal is to help you savor every moment with clarity, calm, and confidence.

ASK ME ANYTHING
When I think about my wedding day, there is no doubt that it would never have turned out so well without Rachel’s diligent, detailed, and heartfelt work. She made the whole event so easy for us and our families. We “trusted the process” and let her take the reins, and when we showed up for our wedding, we were blown away. The venue was beautiful, the vendors were coordinated, and everything we asked for was incorporated.
